I may have to rethink when I post these “Artober” entries… My first thought was to post them in the evenings, but that’s often when I feel like painting or doodling, so if I’m blogging then, the challenge will actually interfere with my “artistic/creative” time. Counterproductive.
Maybe I’ll try just posting every day about what I did the day before… I’m not sure yet!
Artober 2nd Project
I didn’t get around to doing anything “artsy” until this evening, so I didn’t get past finishing up the frames on the gallery wall doodle I shared yesterday.
That’s fine! It still counts, because I was definitely working on an art project, painting with watercolor. I just had hoped I’d start something new afterwards, but between Pippin’s nightly play session and everything else, I didn’t do more that this.
Here’s the finished page:
You can refer to yesterday’s post to see the progress since then, if you’re interested, but basically I just tinted the frames and added a couple of small touches on the tree portrait.
This was a fun project, but I’m done with frames for now! I think I want something a bit looser for my next page/project.
Maybe I’ll use this leftover paint on my palette as a starting point, tomorrow.
Pippin's Evening Playtime
Pippin gets playtime sessions with each of us throughout the day, usually more or less on a schedule, and he definitely knows when it’s about that time (and lets you know if you’re taking too long to get started).
One of his evening playtimes usually happens sometime between 7:30 and 9 p.m. I’ll sit in his indoor pen with him, bringing in some of his soft toys that he’s not allowed to have without supervision. He gets very excited about the whole thing! His current favorite toys are the store-bought stuffed squeaky pig/hog and a homemade striped denim fish-shaped toy. (Whatever’s newest is usually tied with the pig for first place in his affections.)
Here are a few photos and gifs of Pippin’s playtime session this evening.
It’s not easy to play with a puppy while taking photos or video, so he was going solo in most of these. Usually I try to be more involved in his playtime to keep it exciting for him and to minimize his opportunities for chewing right through the fabric!
This piggie needs a bath… And his fuzzy stuffed toy is getting a little dingy, too. ;o)
