Observational Overrated?

3 Materials Challenge: Day 15

I’m struggling to maintain the enthusiasm on this 3MC thing.  As you saw yesterday, I’ve kind of thrown the “observational drawing” guideline/goal to the wind, but so far I’m still at least doodling something every day.  I’m not sure if I’ll try to get back into the observational groove or not… I can see how it might be worthwhile for some people, but I’m not convinced it’s for me.

Today’s last-minute doodle was inspired by a video I watched today—Diane Antone was making dragonflies in watercolor and ink.  Since my paper won’t take watercolor, I just doodled them with a black pen and added some color with a marker and a color pencil.

Materials used:

  • Uni-ball Vision Needle micro (black)
  • Ohuhu double-sided marker (gold, 29)
  • Kalour color pencil (vintage purple, C094)

Welcome!

I’m Michael (a female Michael, to remove any doubt).  I live on the Alabama Gulf Coast with my husband, Donald, and our crazy American Eskimo Dogs.

I love to fill my spare time with various crafts and other hobbies, and this blog is where I share photos, record my progress, and ramble endlessly.
