I don’t have much to show for today, but at least there’s something.
I started with a page of cheap, thin watercolor paper that I’d partially filled with blocks of color. This is what I sometimes do when I have leftover mixed paint in a palette. If it’s not enough to save for anything else (or I’m just ready to clean the palette and start fresh), I’ll usually put it on a scrap of paper—or in this case, a piece of poor quality paper that’s not very nice for anything else. It can then be added to the stash of collage paper, where it might eventually find a use.
This page was already more than half filled with watercolor blocks, but I filled the rest with the dregs of the ceramic palette, then I went over some of the paint with crayon. It makes the paper more interesting and was just something easy and fun to do for a few minutes.
I left the part at the bottom of the page plain, because it seemed interesting enough without any crayon.
The second thing I did was to fill up another page in the dog-themed gluebook. I had another of those old “ugly doodles” of dogs that I mentioned earlier in the week, so I used that as my starting point.
These doodle dogs were only “heads and shoulders”, so putting them behind a fence felt like a good fit, and I added the leaves to the side to fill in the rest of the page.
(The facing page with bones and balls was something from much earlier, maybe even last month.)
Just the new page…
Nothing special, but fun to do.
I like the way the touches of white acrylic paint pen turned out.
This morning, I snapped a few more photos of Pippin lounging around with the orange ring toy:
Sometimes he seems pretty calm for a puppy of his age, but other times he can still be a little bit wild, with plenty of energy to burn!
